AEI Project Spotlight
Ecological Monitoring and Assessment for the Morris Bridge Road Wellfield
AEI monitors and analyzes the hydrological and ecological conditions of the project area and surrounding vicinity to assess environmental factors like climatic events and abiotic and biotic disturbances, as well as human activity like wellfield production, regional development, and drainage. The wellfield monitoring program at the MBRWF evaluates 34 wetlands in accordance with Tampa Bay Water’s approved Environmental Management Plan (EMP).
Lake Howell Nutrient Budget Study and Management Plan
AEI is compiling and reviewing existing data and studies for Lake Howell and the contributing watershed, to complete a variety of field monitoring tasks, develop nutrient loading estimates from the contributing drainage basins, analyze both historical data and the information collected during the study, and use the results for the development of conceptual BMPs for further restoration of the lake.
FY21 Environmental Program Support TMDL for SLD 45
AEI provided environmental services in support of a multi-purpose water resources project for the USACE and the SLD 45 at Patrick SFB, Cape Canaveral SFS, and MTA installations, with the focus on ensuring TMDL compliance. To comply with Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs) mandated by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) and the Florida Clean Waterways Acts (FCWA), AEI conducted compliance monitoring, reporting, and structural and nonstructural Best Management Practices (BMPs) implementation and evaluation.
