Applied Ecology, Inc. is growing, and we would like to welcome Michael Thompson to our team!!
Michael is an ecologist and senior geospatial analyst with professional experience in coastal and marine ecology, fisheries, coastal hazards, community risk and resiliency, spatial planning, and climate change. He received his bachelor’s degree from Willamette University in Biology and a Master of Science Degree in Marine Resource Management from Oregon State University. Michael has worked for the Nature Conservancy in coastal resiliency, habitat suitability, carbon sequestration, and biodiversity modeling. Additionally, he worked in the private sector as a consultant for NOAA, BOEM, and the Coast Guard, prior to joining AEI.Â
During his free time Michael enjoys spending time outdoors surfing, cycling, hiking, diving, and playing the occasional game of golf.
