We are thrilled to announce the addition of Abbey Gering to our Applied Ecology team! Abbey graduated with BS in Oceanography and a MS in Chemical Oceanography from Florida Institute of Technology, where she was a research assistant in the Marine Biogeochemistry Lab. Abbey strengthens AEI’s water resources team with her experience in biogeochemical processes in the water column and sediments and the design of a treatment bioreactor that utilizes natural biological processes to remove nutrients.
 Her passion to protect and restore our ecosystems through actionable science and scientific outreach is a perfect match to AEI’s mission. You will probably see her exploring the Indian River Lagoon on one of our many ongoing monitoring and restoration projects (and her free time). Welcome Abbey!
